  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
  • Pinch of nutmeg optional
Wet Ingredients:
  • 3 tbsp strong brewed chai tea
  • 1 tbsp milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil vegetable or coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Optional:
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips
  • Dollop of whipped cream or frosting

Method
 

  1. Brew a strong chai tea and measure 3 tablespoons.
  2. In a microwave-safe mug, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour in chai tea, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until smooth.
  4. Optional: Mix in chocolate chips for a chocolate chai twist.
  5. Microwave on high for 80–90 seconds. Check after 80 seconds; cake should rise and be soft.
  6. Let cool for 30–60 seconds. Top with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy!
