Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the Coffee: Brew strong coffee and let it cool. For extra flavor, you can add a splash of coffee liqueur.
- Make the Mascarpone Cream: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- Whip the Cream: In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- Assemble the Tiramisu: Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee and arrange a layer in a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.
- Serve: Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
For the most flavorful Tiramisu, refrigerate overnight. This allows the coffee and mascarpone to fully blend together. You can substitute half the mascarpone with Greek yogurt for a slightly lighter version. Serve chilled with a dusting of cocoa powder and chocolate shavings for the perfect presentation.
