Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil optional
  • Toppings: Crushed nuts sprinkles, coconut flakes, or granola (optional)

Method

  1. Prepare Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them in half. Insert a popsicle stick into each half.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is smooth and melted.
  3. Dip Bananas: Dip each banana half into the melted chocolate, coating it well. Let any excess chocolate drip off.
  4. Add Toppings: Roll or sprinkle your favorite toppings onto the chocolate-coated bananas before the chocolate hardens.
  5. Freeze: Place the dipped bananas on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid. Once frozen, transfer to a freezer bag for storage.

Notes

Semi-sweet or dark chocolate provides a rich flavor, but milk chocolate can be used for a sweeter treat. Get creative with toppings! Crushed almonds, granola, or shredded coconut add texture and flavor. Store these banana pops in the freezer for up to 1 month.
